Learn to Lucid Dream
Lucid dreaming is where you are essentially awake in your dreams. You are aware you are dreaming and you can control the dream completely. However there are different levels of lucid dreaming, you can be aware you’re dreaming but forget, be aware you are dreaming but can’t manipulate your surroundings, or you can be fully lucid. It’s a bit like Inception, I suppose, except you won’t get stuck in limbo.
There are many different methods you can try, but this one is easiest and has worked best for me (and my friends).
- The main idea for this is that you have to get used to checking reality. Throughout the day get used to checking the clock, or any words around you. Look at it, look away and look back. If it is the same both times, you’re awake. Numbers and letters in dreams are never the same twice, so if you look at it, look away and look back and it’s different each time, you’re dreaming.
- You can either do that, or whenever you remember, look at your hands. Make sure you have all the right fingers in the right place. If you are dreaming you will be missing fingers, have extra fingers or some kind of abnormality. This is another method of checking reality.
- The trick with both these methods is that you have to do it frequently.
- If you get in the habit, you will soon enough find yourself doing it and you’ll have 15 fingers or something fucked up, or it’ll be 5:30 then a second later it’ll be 3:15. When this happens, you’ll probably freak out or get really excited. If you do, you will end up waking yourself up if you don’t distract yourself. So, spin around in circles. Doing this will distract you and keep you in your dream.
- If you get this far, try flying. This is a simple thing to do in your dream and it gives you control over your body and movement. I found that if I tried to fly my mind would fly upwards leaving my body behind. So I’d either have to jump really high, or imagine which muscles I would use to push off from the ground, and visualise the air moving over my body and I fly upwards, then it worked.
- The first few times, things will probably be pretty fuzzy. Try looking around at your surroundings, and focus on details. This will establish your surroundings and it’ll be easier to manipulate.
- You might not be able to control everything straight away, in fact I’d be surprised if you could. But try anyway, you’ll get somewhere with it.
- Some ideas for things you could do in your dreams are things you wouldn’t get away with doing in real life. (Just make sure you’re dreaming first;) ) Like flying, doing hard drugs, doing hard drugs and then flying, having sex in the middle of the street with some hot dude, while doing hard drugs, um, swimming under sea, fighting bad guys in slow motion, convincing bystanders that you’re Jesus, get stuck in an elevator with your celebrity crush, go and punch that bitch you hate and then make out with her boyfriend, play a rock concert in front of millions… There are SO many possibilities!
